Lancaster is a well-known art hub in the United States. Lancaster’s art culture revolves around Gallery Row. Art galleries abound in the old stores that line North Prince Street, especially in the first and second blocks. There are several outstanding artists featured, and the work varies from beautiful to whimsical. Lancaster is a great art destination, boasting a diverse collection of world-class art galleries. Gallery Row, or the 100 block of North Prince Street in downtown Lancaster, is a one-stop-shop for a variety of art exhibits. Many of these local artists have gotten substantial training in their field but have chosen to return to their hometown to sell their work. As a result, the Lancaster art scene is blossoming. Christiane David Gallery is packed with an eclectic collection of the artist’s colorful watercolors, acrylic, and oil paintings. Christine David’s paintings have a loose and unscripted feel to them. Her solid technical background and a keen eye for composition enable her to convey her originality in vibrant, innovative ways that please the eye. CityFolk Gallery is a lifestyle gallery that showcases well-known regional and national artists working in a range of mediums. Along with French and American antiques, you’ll find whimsical and inventive paintings, sculptures, and decorative pieces for the house. The Freiman Stoltzfus Gallery exemplifies the excellent degree of talent available in Lancaster County. Freiman Stoltzfus’ intriguing work is greatly influenced by his rural Lancaster County upbringing and his numerous trips to Europe. From paintings to sculptures to sketches, the exhibition showcases his diverse variety of artistic expression. Liz Hess Gallery, the excellent work of local artist Liz Hess, known for her iconic Red Umbrella Series of paintings, is on display at this gallery on Gallery Row in downtown Lancaster. Red Raven Art Company is a company that creates works of art. The gallery is centrally positioned on Gallery Row. Some of Lancaster’s most well-known artists own and run it. The gallery exhibits the best of visiting artists in addition to the work of its members. This lovely exhibition features a varied range of artistic styles. Megan Ashman Gallery is a gallery run by Megan Ashman. Megan Justine Ashman is a Collage and Mixed Media Artist. Megan’s works of art, like a Surrealist, are influenced by the unconscious. Creative lunacy is carried into the painting through cycles of emotions, rushing ideas, and floods of energy. Mio Gallery is one of the most vibrant galleries in downtown Lancaster. This gallery offers a contemporary perspective on local art, from the strangely formed mixed metal jewelry to the beautifully colored glasswork. Mayra Orama Muiz and Erica Millner handcraft each work, which ranges from strange and conversational to simple and elegant. Artisans Gallery, its one-of-a-kind works represent Lancaster artists’ distinct styles and abilities. While all of the artwork in this area is by local artists, the bottom level only features the work of the current featured artists. In addition, some of the most unusual galleries in downtown Lancaster are within walking distance of Gallery Row.
